Former Nursing Student Creates a Lasting Legacy at Murray State

Jessie Munday Jackson

Jessie Munday Jackson

Jessie Munday Jackson was among the first class of students to graduate from the nursing program at Murray State University. As a nurse, Jessie took care of thousands of people throughout her career and will now continue to do so with the generous estate gift she left for students in the Murray State School of Nursing and Health Professions.

The Jessie Munday Jackson Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund will assist future nurses in obtaining an education to prepare them for careers in health care settings after graduation.

Dr. Dina Byers, Dean of the Murray State School of Nursing and Health Professions, expressed her gratitude for this wonderful bequest.

“Ms. Jackson’s generosity will provide financial assistance to countless nursing students pursuing their dreams at Murray State University. What a wonderful legacy she has left on our campus,” Dr. Byers said.

The Jessie Munday Jackson Nursing Scholarship Endowment Fund will be awarded for the first time during the 2023–2024 academic year at Murray State.
