Alumna Leaves Estate Gift
Doris Jean Wood Seney was born on July 7, 1926. She attended Murray State University as a nontraditional student and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in biology. After graduation, Doris moved to Alaska where she met and married her husband. She worked as a nursing assistant before relocating to California to begin working for Stanford University.
Doris combined her love of biology and research to establish a long, successful career in analytics, and she generously supported biology students at Murray State University throughout the years by continuing to make regular gifts. She was a member of the Carr Society and the Heritage Society, in addition to being a lifetime member of the Murray State University Alumni Association.
Through her estate, Doris has left a legacy gift of approximately $730,000 to Murray State University to benefit biology students in the form of scholarships and assistantships.
Like Doris, you too can make a gift in your estate plan that helps ensure educational opportunities for future Murray State University students. Please contact Dr. David Durr, CFA, CFP® at 270-809-6912 or ddurr@murraystate.edu to learn more.
